Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
