In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down this Qur’an upon you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) for you to fall into hardship! (Either because he used to pray at length during the night or because he was distressed due to the disbelievers not accepting faith.) 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Let not the unbelievers who follow their vain desires make you forget the Day of Judgment, lest you will perish." 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
