Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters; 120 (He was) thankful for His (Allah's) Graces. He (Allah) chose him (as an intimate friend) and guided him to a Straight Path (Islamic Monotheism, neither Judaism nor Christianity). 121 We granted him virtue in this life and he shall be among the righteous ones in the life to come. 122 And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters. 123 The Sabbath was made obligatory only upon those who differed in it; and indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matter in which they differed. 124 Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way. 125 And if you chastise, chastise even as you have been chastised; and yet assuredly if you are patient, better it is for those patient. 126 Endure thou patiently (O Muhammad). Thine endurance is only by (the help of) Allah. Grieve not for them, and be not in distress because of that which they devise. 127 Allah is with the cautious and those who do good. 128
