No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
