The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
