Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 noble scribes 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
