The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
