In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or orders piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
