The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
