Believers, do not accept illegal interest in order to increase your wealth many times over. Have fear of God so that you will have everlasting happiness. 130 And fear the Fire, which is prepared for the disbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another for your Lord's forgiveness and for a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been prepared for the God-fearing, 133 who spend in prosperity and in adversity, for those who curb their anger and those who forgive people. And Allah loves the charitable 134 And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins,- and who can forgive sins except Allah?- and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done. 135 For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens beneath which rivers flow – abiding in it forever; what an excellent reward for the performers (of good deeds)! 136 Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied. 137 This is an exposition unto mankind and a guidance and an admonition unto the God-fearing. 138 So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers. 139 If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers - 140 and that God may prove the believers, and blot out the unbelievers. 141 Did you think that you could go to Paradise before God knew which of you fought for His cause and which of you bore patience? 142 You previously longed for death (in the way of Allah): now you have faced it, observing it with your own eyes. 143
