And indeed We have created man and We know what his soul instils in him; and We are nearer to him than the hearts artery. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 Everyone has come, each attended by one who will drive him on, and another who will bear witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 His companion said: “Here is he who was in my charge.” 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.' 29
