Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
