Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
