So they set out till they (came to the quay) and went on board a ship in which he made a hole, (and Moses said:) "You have made a hole in the boat to drown its passengers? You have done a strange thing!" 71 He said, "Did I not tell you that you would not be able to remain patient with me?" 72 He said: Blame me not for what I forgot, and do not constrain me to a difficult thing in my affair. 73 Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy, he (Khidr) killed him. Musa (Moses) said: "Have you killed an innocent person who had killed none? Verily, you have committed a thing "Nukra" (a great Munkar - prohibited, evil, dreadful thing)!" 74 ۞ [Al-Khidhr] said, "Did I not tell you that with me you would never be able to have patience?" 75 (Moses) said: If I ask thee after this concerning aught, keep not company with me. Thou hast received an excuse from me. 76 So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so al-Khidhr restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment." 77 He said: this shall be the parting between me and thee; now I shall declare unto thee the interpretation of that wherewith thou wast not able to have patience. 78 As for the boat, it belonged to poor men working in the sea, so I intended to damage it, for there was before them a prince taking every boat by force. 79 “And in respect of the boy – his parents were Muslims and we feared that he may incite them to rebellion and disbelief.” 80 and we desired that their Lord should grant them another in his place, a son more upright and more tender hearted. 81 As for that wall, it belonged to two orphan boys of the city, and their treasure was buried under it. Their father was an upright man. So your Lord willed that on reaching the age of maturity they should dig out their treasure as a favour from their Lord. So, I did not do that of my own accord. This is the explanation of things you could not bear with patience." 82
