And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
