Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
