The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Almighty God's Truth.
