AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
