Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
