Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, weary, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
