Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 [O YOU who deny the truth!] Should We, perchance, withdraw this reminder from you altogether, seeing that you are people bent on wasting your own selves? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
