The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the finest, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
