Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 Raising clouds of dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
