The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
