And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
