Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
