The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise, and warn. 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all abomination shun! 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
