Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the snorting, panting horses, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 and blaze a trail of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Is he not aware of the time when the contents of the graves will be brought out? 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
