We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 who hinders good, exceeds the limits, is immersed in doubts, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
