Nay, by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 about the sinners. 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
