۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
