We did not create heaven and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who deny the truth. Woe betide those who deny the truth, when they are cast into the Fire -- 27 [For,] would We treat those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds in the same manner as [We shall treat] those who spread corruption on earth? Would We treat the God-conscious in the same manner as the wicked? 28 This is a Book We have sent down unto thee, blest, that they may ponder the revelations thereof, and that there may be admonished men of understanding. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening, 31 he said, 'Lo, I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord, until the sun was bidden behind the veil. 32 Return them to me!' And he began to stroke their shanks and necks. 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 He said: “My Lord, forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom such as none other after me will deserve. Surely You are the Bounteous Giver.” 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 "This is Our gift," (We said to him), "so bestow freely or withhold without reckoning." 39 And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. 40
