Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
