The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
