Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
