This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
