۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
