۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
