And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 Not a word he uttereth but there is with him a watcher ready. 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 His companion said: “Here is he who was in my charge.” 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement. 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
