In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
