The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
