The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
