Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
