Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
