Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
