The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
44 verses, revealed in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
A requester seeks the punishment that will take place – 1 To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. 2 from punishing them. He is the Lord of the Ascending Stairways, 3 all the angels and all the inspiration [ever granted to man] ascend unto Him [daily,] in a day the length whereof is [like] fifty thousand years… 4 Therefore, [O believers] behave with seemly patience. 5 They see the (Day) indeed as a far-off (event): 6 while We think that it is near at hand. 7 On the day when the heavens become like molten metal. 8 and the mountains will become like tufts of wool, 9 And no friend will ask of a friend, 10 though they may see each other. A sinner will wish that he could save himself from the torment of that day by sacrificing his children, 11 And his wife and his brother 12 And his nearest kindred who shelter him 13 And all, all that is on earth,- so it could deliver him: 14 Never! That is indeed a blazing fire. 15 will strip-off the flesh 16 Inviting (all) such as turn their backs and turn away their faces (from the Right). 17 And collect (wealth) and hide it (from use)! 18 ۞ Indeed, man is born impatient: 19 When evil comes upon him he is impatient; 20 And when good touches him, withholding [of it], 21 Not so are the prayerful. 22 who are steadfast in prayer; 23 And those in whose wealth there is a known right, 24 For the (needy) who asks and him who is prevented (for some reason from asking); 25 and those who believe in the Day of Judgement 26 And those who are fearful of the chastisement of their Lord-- 27 for none is secure from the punishment of their Lord, 28 And those who guard their private parts 29 Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess-- for these surely are not to be blamed, 30 But he who seeks to go beyond this, these it is that go beyond the limits-- 31 And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive 32 Who uphold their testimonies, 33 and (finally) those who do not miss their ritual - prayers at the prescribed times; 34 Those are highly honored in the Gardens. 35

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
