Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
