Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
