The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
