S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
